    One of the firemen who worked for the telephone company helped design a system using DC current to launch the rockets and in 1990 and 1991 the ignition systems were changed over to provide separation between the mortars and the firemen igniting the fireworks. The largest show he remembers firing was during the Dessert Storm era in 1991. (Laurel Outlook, MT)

    SUMCO Phoenix to close Maineville plant  Jun 24, 2009
    The Maineville plant, on Grandin Road, was purchased by SUMCO in 1989 from Milacron Inc. The facility manufactures wafers for semiconductors used in transistors, diodes, motor controllers, ignition systems, alternators and transformers. The company said it plans to consolidate its small wafer production into its other operations. (Cincinnati Business Courier, OH)
